Barrelia is a spot designed for the shifts in your day. We took the name from the tradition of aging wine in barrels—not because we actually do that here, but because we liked the way it sounds. In the morning, the space is usually full of natural light (if weather allows of course), which makes it a solid place to sit with a coffee and wake up. When evening rolls around, the mood changes. People show up for a glass of wine, some table games, or participate in our weekly events. It’s a low-pressure, local space where you can usually find a corner that fits what you’re looking for.

We make most of our food ourselves and buy our ingredients from local suppliers. If you’re into sports or just looking for a healthy meal, you can find lighter options like our yoghurt bowls , fresh salads , or sourdough sandwiches. If you'd rather have a treat, we have plenty of sweets, including our Nutella and banana bruschetta or a thick Choco Peanut shake. With a range that covers everything from savory grilled focaccias to twelve varieties of bruschettas, there is usually something for everyone.

Barrelia is located in Västra Hamnen, inside the futuristic Basecamp building. We are right by the sea and just a short walk from both the Turning Torso and Malmö University. If you are coming from the city center, it takes about 15 minutes to walk here. The neighborhood itself is quite quiet, so it stays peaceful even though it is close to everything. It is a good spot to visit if you are spending the day near the water or the university
